1. Big Ten teams' inability to win away from home finally caught up with them. No league had a lower winning percentage on the road this season, so it shouldn't be a big surprise that all six conference representatives failed to advance past the first weekend of the tournament.

2. The glass is half full at Connecticut. Instead of wondering why their team was challenged by Albany and Kentucky, UConn fans should appreciate the Huskies' ability to win tough games when they're not playing well. That's the sign of a championship team.

3. Karl Hobbs is most likely ticketed for Cincinnati. Bearcats representatives have already made back-channel inquiries about the George Washington coach and hope to persuade Hobbs, a former assistant at Connecticut, to return to the Big East.
