Buffaloes' Spring Field

A late afternoon snowfall blanketed Colorado's practice field during the team's spring workout in Boulder on March 21. It was the Buffaloes' sixth practice under 45-year-old coach Dan Hawkins (inset), who took over the team last December after five seasons at Boise State.

Watering Hole

Tiger Woods lined up his chip on number 17, the 137-yard signature hole at TPC Sawgrass, during the final round of the Players Championship on Sunday in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla. Woods made par on the hole and finished tied for 22nd. Stephen Ames (inset), who was thrashed, 9 and 8, by Woods in the Accenture Match Play Championship in February, won the tournament by six strokes.

Baby Boom

Sophomore forward Glen (Big Baby) Davis lofted a shot over LaMarcus Aldridge of Texas during LSU's 70-60 victory in the Atlanta Regional final (page 36) last Saturday at the Georgia Dome. Sporting personalized size-16 footwear (inset), the 6'8", 315-pound Davis had 26 points and nine rebounds to help propel the Tigers to the Final Four in Indianapolis.
