Rookie hotshots J.B. Holmes and Camilo Villegas (right) made the cut, but
Holmes wound up at 17 over, while Villegas limped in at plus 22.
Graduated levels of rough sounded like a good idea, but it didn't have much
practical effect: The ball was dead in either of the outer levels.
