GRAND RAPIDS > Water Polo

McCahill, a recent graduate of East Grand Rapids High, scored nine goals in three games at the state tournament to lead the girls' team to its first Michigan championship. She was named the state MVP and will attend Marist College on a water polo scholarship this fall.

Nicodemus Naimadu

NAROK, KENYA > Track and Field

Naimadu, a junior at Abilene Christian, won the 3,000-meter steeplechase and the 5,000-meter run, helping the Wildcats extend their streak of NCAA Division II men's indoor and outdoor championships to eight. His victories give him a total of four NCAA titles for the school year.

Sarah Bowman

WARRENTON, VA. > Track and Field

Bowman, a graduate of Fauquier High, won the girls' mile run in meet-record time (4:36.95) at the Nike Outdoor Nationals. At a meet earlier in June, she won her fourth straight state Group AA 1,600-meter title, her third straight 800-meter title and the 3,200 meters.
