Laura, a junior forward at Unity Christian High and a member of U.S. Soccer's Women's under-17 team, led the Crusaders to a 28-0 season and their second consecutive Division III state championship. She scored 42 goals, had 34 assists and was named Michigan's 2006 Miss Soccer.

Brian Flores

CARLSBAD, N.MEX. > Baseball

Flores, a southpaw who will be a junior at Arizona State this fall, is the National Junior College Athletic Association male athlete of the year. He has a record of 27-3 over the last two years, and he led New Mexico Junior College to the 2005 national title. He was a two-time Western Junior College Athletic Conference MVP.

Bianca Knight

RIDGELAND, MISS. > Track and Field

Bianca, a senior at Ridgeland High, was named the 2005-06 Gatorade national girls' track and field athlete of the year. Early in the season she had the nation's top high school times in the 100 meters (11.40) and 200 meters (23.14). She later won a gold medal in the 200 meters (23.06) at the Nike Outdoor Nationals in Greensboro, N.C.
