Theron, a senior at Middletown High, won gold in the men's novice free-skate competition and silver in the short program at the 48th Annual Lake Placid Summer Figure Skating Championships. He also won silver in the free skate at the New England Summer Challenge in Marlborough, Mass.

Jamie, a senior righthander at Crestview High, struck out three consecutive batters with the bases loaded to beat Symmes Valley 6-4 and give the undefeated Lady Knights their first Ohio Division IV title. She went 23-0 for the season with an 0.50 ERA and a .588 batting average.
Bobby Young
PROVIDENCE > Track and Field
Young, a junior at Pennsylvania's Lincoln University, won the 400-meter dash at the NCAA Division III outdoor track and field championships in 45.95, the season's best time. That win, and his second-place finish in the 200 meters, helped the Lions win their 16th national title in 20 years.
