Shauna, a freshman at Seymour High, won her second straight national title in world-class women's in-line singles free skating at the U.S. Artistic Roller Skating National Championships in Pensacola, Fla. She will represent the U.S. at the world championships in Rome in November.
Kami Ouellet
COLEBROOK, N.H. > Softball
Ouellet, a freshman lefthander at Hesser College, had a record of 33-1 while leading Colebrook Academy to its third straight Class S state softball championship. She had an ERA of 0.35 for her senior season and set Mohawk career records by going 48-7 with 438 strikeouts.
Tavaris Washington
BAINBRIDGE, GA. > Track and Field
Washington, a freshman at Auburn, won the gold medal in the young men's 400-meter hurdles at the National Junior Track & Field Championships. In May he took the Georgia Class AAAA 110- and 300-meter hurdle titles while competing for Bainbridge High.
