What was your welcome-to-the-NFL moment?

First play of my rookie year [with the Bucs in '93], against the Chiefs. Joe Montana handed off to Marcus Allen. I made the tackle and started jumping up and down. My teammates slapped me on the head and said, "Act like you've been there." I had to chill.

Favorite off-day activity?

Being with my family. My son, Jake, who's six, always wants to play tackle football. It's not the thing I'm most looking forward to, but you've got to do it for him. I just want to play catch, but he wants to play a game. With my girls, Lindsay, who is four, and Lillian, who is two, I'm playing "baby," pushing strollers with them.

If I weren't in the NFL, I'd be ... playing baseball. I was a second-round pick for the Marlins in '92.

What's one thing people don't know about being an NFL player?

Often what's focused on is the police blotter and things of that nature, but I'm really proud of the work players do in the community.
