Guard, a senior middle hitter at Eastern Kentucky, leads the Colonels in kills (155) and points (186.0). She has been most valuable player in three tournaments so far this season and was named Ohio Valley Conference offensive player of the week.

Germaine Race

WARRENSBURG, MO. > Football

Race, a junior running back at Pittsburg State, rushed for 215 yards and scored five touchdowns in a 48--30 win over Missouri Western State. He has been Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association offensive player of the week twice this season.

Karin Korb

ATLANTA > Tennis

Korb, 37, who works for a company that develops programs for disabled athletes, defeated Nancy Christensen 6--4, 6--1 to win the National Public Parks tennis championships in Stamford, Conn. Korb is the first wheelchair player to beat an able-bodied player in tournament play.
