Despite the extensive efforts of three Florida defenders, kicker Wes Byrum booted a 43-yard field goal as time expired last Saturday, giving Auburn a 20--17 victory over the No. 4 Gators in Gainesville. More than 40,000 runners started the Berlin Marathon in front of the Brandenburg Gate on Sunday, and 2:04:26 later two-time Olympic 10,000-meter champion Haile Gebrselassie crossed the finish line (inset) as the new world-record holder (page 26).

Ride 'im, Cowboys
Dallas linebacker Anthony Spencer (93), safety Ken Hamlin (26) and friends gave Rams running back Brian Leonard their version of a rookie hazing on Sunday in Irving, Texas. With Tony Romo (inset) passing for 339 yards, the Cowboys routed St. Louis 35--7 to run their record to 4--0.
