Movin' Up

After Rutgers's last-minute, 28--25 defeat of No. 3 Louisville in Piscataway, N.J., last Thursday, fans took defensive back Glen Lee (6) for a celebratory ride. The victory was the biggest in the program's 137-year history, and it propelled the Scarlet Knights, 9--0 and sixth-ranked in the BCS under coach Greg Schiano (inset), into the national title picture (page 28).

Movin' Down

Cornerback Aaron Ross (right) couldn't prevent Kansas State wide receiver Yamon Figurs from latching onto a 36-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter of Texas's 45--42 loss last Saturday in Manhattan, Kans. The upset dropped the Longhorns and coach Mack Brown (inset) from No. 5 to No. 13 in the BCS rankings and ended their bid to repeat as national champs.

Squeakin' By

Florida defensive end Jarvis Moss (94) blocked a 48-yard field goal try by South Carolina's Ryan Succop on the last play to preserve a 17--16 victory in Gainesville, Fla., last Saturday—an especially bitter loss for Gamecocks coach Steve Spurrier (inset) against his old school. The win lifted the fourth-ranked Gators to 9--1 and kept their BCS title-game hopes alive.
