After the Toronto game, a 104-95 loss in which Boozer had 19 points but only five boards, he received a tougher critique from CeCe. Recalls Carlos, "She said, 'You didn't really go after rebounds. You just sat and watched the ball in the air.'" And when CeCe talks, Carlos listens. "In every situation she gives me good advice," he says. "It's one of the great things about being with an older woman."
So when Boozer had to cancel an interview with a reporter last week, he explained that he had no choice. "I told my wife I'd be home by a certain time," Boozer said via cellphone from his car after practice. "I said I'd be there in five minutes and"--he paused to check the time--"I'm three minutes away right now." Asked if he could show up late, Boozer laughed, as if acknowledging the wisdom of Will Rogers: "There are two ways to argue with a woman, and neither of them work."
