After the demolition of Colorado was complete, Young, who didn't play in the fourth quarter, jogged around the field in a victory lap as his hometown fans serenaded him with chants of "Heisman! Heisman!" and held up signs that read: TEXAS IS INVINCEABLE. "I don't care about the Heisman right now," said a smiling Young after the game. "I care right now that we won the Big 12. I'm excited. To be blessed to go play one more game, I'm totally excited."

One more game. Young couldn't control the Heisman voting [Editor's note: The award would go to USC's Reggie Bush, with Young finishing second], but now a national championship was within his grasp--and, more important, very much in his control. -- Lars Anderson
