HIGHLIGHTS: Heisman Trophy ('59); 598 yards rushing, 412 yards returning kicks and punts, seven touchdowns scored and a 40.3 punting average as a senior

The versatile Cannon (20) led LSU to its first national championship, in 1958—passing for the game's only score—and is its only Heisman winner. His most memorable play was an 89-yard punt return against Ole Miss in '59 that give the Tigers a 7-3 comeback victory.

HIGHLIGHTS: All-America ('04); fifth alltime at LSU in sacks (19) and seventh in tackles for loss (34�)

At 6'4" and 295 pounds, with a huge wingspan, Spears was recruited as a tight end but had developed into an All-SEC defensive end by '03, a season in which he had 49 tackles and six sacks. In the Sugar Bowl against Oklahoma he added an interception to seal the BCS national championship.

HIGHLIGHTS: Three-time All-America; member of the Walter Camp All-Century Team

The New Orleans native tied an NCAA record on Dec. 5, 1970, when he returned two punts for touchdowns—and added an interception—in a 61-17 rout of Archie Manning and Ole Miss that sent the Tigers to the Orange Bowl.
