Nine three-pointers in regionals

AT THE press conference following Florida's win over Oregon, a reporter asked Lee Humphrey how it was that he'd only attempted 12 free throws the entire season. Teammate Corey Brewer decided to answer for him. "Would you foul him?" Brewer asked the reporter. "He's shooting the nets off."

In the course of hitting seven three-pointers and scoring 23 points, Humphrey not only broke a net but also brought back memories of the 2006 Final Four, when his torrid outside shooting helped Florida dispose of George Mason and UCLA. Humphrey had been relatively quiet in this year's tournament, however. "He can go four, five, six, eight, nine minutes where teams do a good job, then all of a sudden he gets freed up," said Florida coach Billy Donovan. "And he can make shots when he doesn't have a rhythm. He's as good as any shooter I've been around."
