The state of the Little League World Series claims 39 baseball players, including Stan Musial (1/23/56), left, Jon Matlack (6/12/67) and Terry Francona (7/12/76).

Bobby Fischer (1/20/58) was the first of seven chess prodigies from Brooklyn. Fifteen more chess kings (of 68 total) came from New York, which has the most of any state.
