The film sessions
paid off. The next year Philadelphia went 9-7, the Eagles' first winning record
in 12 years, and Jaworski's interceptions dropped to 16. More significantly,
the Eagles shed their losers' image and started soaring. In 1979 they were
11-5, this season 12-4. "I always had confidence that we would do it,"
Jaworski says. "I just never thought it would happen this quick. Now
everyone is asking what it will be like on Sunday when suddenly I'll be a
household name and people all across the country will be talking about
Jaws ponders this
a moment, then shrugs and grins hugely. "How should I know?" he says.
"I won't hear them."
