House, a freshman at Alcorn State, won the state pentathlon title in Nashville with a first-place finish in both the long jump (19'1�") and the 100-meter hurdles (14.6). In an earlier meet, she recorded a 5'7�" mark in the high jump.

TONY ORSINI
ARNOLD, PA.
Tony, 14, had two no-hitters and averaged 15 strikeouts a game as he led the Arnold Firemen to the Twin City Midget League, senior division baseball title. He also batted .786 and hit eight home runs, three of them grand slams.

Douglas, a seventh-grader at The Dalton School, became the youngest person ever to earn the rank of Life Master—the highest rating conferred by the American Contract Bridge League—at the age of 11 years, 10 months and two days.

BAKERSFIELD, CALIF.
Marianne, competing in the girls' 14s, won the USTA hardcourt and clay titles, and then defeated Tatjana Schrobsdorff 4-6, 7-5, 6-3 to win the Nationals for her sixth victory in eight age-group national finals over the last two years.

MEDFORD, MASS.
McGillivray, a 27-year-old sports promoter, completed a 1,522-mile triathlon in 31 days to raise more than $75,000 for the Jimmy Fund. He cycled 971 miles, ran 517 and swam 34 while passing through all six of the New England states.
