Jim, a 6'1", 193-pound running back, ran for 1,116 yards and 17 touchdowns on 188 carries and Dale, a 5'10", 181-pound fullback, had 1,040 yards and 13 TDs on 190 rushes as the Touchdown Twins led St. Joseph's High to its third consecutive undefeated regular season. The two seniors became only the second and third players in the school's 28-year history to carry the ball for 1,000 yards in a season as the Indians stretched their regular-season winning streak to 31 games.

MOLLY CERNICEK
LOS ALAMOS, N. MEX.
Molly, a senior forward, scored 51 goals in 16 games to pace the Los Alamos High girls' soccer team to the state championship. She was the state's leading female scorer as the Hilltoppers extended their two-year record to 26-0.

STEVEN SOKOL
SAN JOSE, CALIF.
Sokol, 25, a graduate of Tufts University, set two unofficial world records by doing 52,003 sit-ups in 32 hours, 17 minutes and 13,013 leg lifts in 5 hours, 45 minutes. His feats benefited the American Red Cross and the American Cancer Society.

STOW, OHIO
MacFarland, 40, coached the Stow High girls' volleyball team to its 100th straight Metro League victory with a 15-3, 15-5 win over Ravenna. The team, which was founded by MacFarland in 1972, also won the national junior AAU title.

WENDY WOOD
LEXINGTON, MASS.
Wendy, 17, daughter of former major league Pitcher Wilbur Wood, won the girls' 18 singles and doubles titles at the New England Lawn Tennis Association's championships in New Haven, Conn. She's top-ranked by NELTA in girls' 18s.
