Kim, a runner who recently graduated from Sprague High, was unbeaten outdoors in her senior year, winning 26 races at distances ranging from 800 to 3,000 meters. She set an Oregon girls' high school record in the 3,000 (9:46.87).

DARRELL GREEN
HOUSTON
Green, a junior sprinter at Texas A&I, won three 1982 national collegiate dash titles: the NCAA Division II 100 meters (10.57) and 200 (20.48) and the NAIA 200, in a meet-record 20.84. In football, he was an all-conference cornerback.

KIMBERLY VOSS
NORTH AURORA, ILL.
Kimberly, a first-grader at the Lucia Goodwin School, jumped rope 1,130 times without stopping or missing, a feat that her phys ed teacher, Ray Anderson, says, "has never been approached by such a young person in my 19 years of teaching."

AUGIE SCHMIDT
KENOSHA, WIS.
Schmidt, a junior shortstop at the University of New Orleans, set five Privateer career records, including hits (210) and homers (30). A .342 hitter over three college seasons, he was picked second in the June draft by the Toronto Blue Jays.

CATHY PALADINO
BUFFALO
Paladino, 35, a housewife, rode her gelding, Trader, to the Fox Run Ltd. Winter Series championship in her first crack at competitive show riding. Before taking up riding in 1980 she hadn't participated in any sport since grammar school.

ED PASZKOWSKI
TORONTO, ONTARIO
Paszkowski, 33, fishing with a No. 3 Mepps spinner in Lake Huron, landed a 69-inch, 168-pound lake sturgeon, the largest of that species ever caught on 12-pound-test line. Researchers believe that the fish was at least 80 years old.
