Nancy, a senior at Pine Crest Prep, won the girls' 200-yard free at the Florida class 3A swimming and diving meet in 1:46.63, a state and national girls' prep school record. She set another state record in winning the 100 free (49.95).

WYCKOFF, N.J.
John, 9, a center halfback, scored 26 goals in leading the Bison to a 10-0 record in the Northwest Bergen Soccer League for eight-and nine-year-olds. In the Bison's final game, an 11-1 win over Franklin Lakes, John had six goals.

KRISTI YAMAGUCHI
FREMONT, CALIF.
Kristi, 16, is the first skater to win golds in two disciplines at a World Junior Figure Skating Championships. After earning the singles title, she teamed with Rudi Galindo, 18, of San Jose to triumph in pairs competition.

TERRY DANIELS
DOZIER, ALA.
Terry, a 5'10" junior guard at Dozier High, made 14 three-pointers and scored 54 points in the Tigers' 67-56 win over Pleasant Home. Terry, who's also an all-conference linebacker, is averaging 40 points a game this season.

AMY GOODWIN
BELLVILLE, TEXAS
Amy, a senior at Bellville High, won her fourth straight class 3A girls' high school cross-country title, running the two-mile course in 12:18 to win by 30 seconds. In 1987 she was a high school All-America at 800 meters.

FRANK BARRETT
EDGEMERE, MD.
Barrett, 69, a retired steelworker, won the 198-pound division for men 65 to 69 at the World Masters Power Lifting Championships, at Fort Knox, Ky. Barrett squat-lifted 390 pounds, bench-pressed 260 and deadlifted 460.
