Aalberg, a senior at the University of Utah, won the cross-country ski marathon at the Utah Winter Olympic Games. He skied the 26.1-mile course at Jeremy Ranch in 2:15:15.5 to beat Asmund Drivnes by 1.3 seconds.
Kim, the 5'6" senior captain and middle blocker for University High, led the Junior Rainbows to their fourth straight girls' state volleyball title and a No. 1 ranking nationally. In her four seasons, University had an 84-1 record.
Eric, 18, who competes for the Boston Bullets track and field club, won the 400 meters at an invitational meet at Harvard with a time of 47.9, which set a meet record and was the third-fastest ever by a high schooler indoors.
Kendall, a senior at Masconomet Regional High, is the first Massachusetts high school girl to score more than 100 goals in soccer and 1,000 points in basketball. In soccer, she set state girls' records for goals in a season (53) and a career (160).
CENTRAL SQUARE, N.Y.
Menjik, 52, the coach of the P.V. Moore High riflery team, got his 300th straight match win, dating back to 1971, when the Redmen beat Vestal High 1,326-1,223. Menjik has coached six state champion teams in 23 years.
MERCER ISLAND, WASH.
Chandy, who is a senior at Lakeside School, won her third straight girls' 100-yard backstroke title at the state swimming championships in Seattle with a state and national prep record of 57.50. She also won the 100 freestyle in 53.24.
