Ali Hurley ANACONDA, MONT. > Basketball Ali, a senior forward at Anaconda High, scored 1,698 career points, breaking the school mark held by former Minneapolis Laker Ed Kalafat. A four-time all-state pick, she averaged 21.0 points and 9.1 rebounds this season and led the Copperheads to a 22--1 record and their first Class A title since 1973.

Sheena Devine
NORTH BRANCH, MINN. > Track and Field
Devine, a senior shot putter at Bemidji State, has not lost to a Division II athlete in 21 events, a streak that includes the 2007 D-II indoor and outdoor championships. At the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference meet she won the weight throw and broke the league shot put record by more than six feet (51' 7 3/4").

Jake Johnson
CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. > Swimming
Jake, a sophomore at Shenendehowa High, won state titles in the 50-yard freestyle (21.44) and the 100 free (46.48), both school records. At the 2007 Pan American Maccabean Games in Argentina he won 10 medals (seven of them gold) in the junior men's division.

Stephen Scherer
BILLERICA, MASS. > Shooting
Scherer, a freshman at West Point, won the air rifle competition at the U.S. Olympic Trials with a 1,994.1 composite score. He is only the third Cadet to earn an Olympic shooting berth and the first since 1960 to make the Olympic team in any sport. He also won the 2008 Great America Rifle Conference air rifle title.

Yonder Alonso
MIAMI > Baseball
Alonso, a junior first baseman at Miami, hit three home runs in two wins over Boston College. Last year he led the ACC with 18 homers, 64 walks and 74 RBIs. Playing for the Brewster Whitecaps last summer, he led the Cape Cod League in on-base percentage (.468) and was third in average (.338).

Dione Eccles
CLEMMONS, N.C. > Basketball
Eccles, a junior guard at Greensboro, scored a USA South Conference--record 54 points in the Pride's 117--113 double-overtime win over Ferrum in the league semifinals. She then had 19 points and 11 rebounds in an 83--80 title-game win over Christopher Newport. She averages 20.2 points a game.
