ART TOKLE JR.
Little Art Tokle was fitted with a pair of cut-down skis by his father, a champion jumper, when he was 18 months old. A year later he was jumping. Now 5 and a kindergarten student at Fox River Grove, Ill., Art is still learning from Art Sr., and the youngster's form is improving steadily. He is convinced that some day he will be "even better" than Daddy. Asked when that day would come, he sighed: "Oh, gee, about 100 years."
Dickie (Hoogan) Hemric of Wake Forest College has scored more points in his four-year college basketball career than anyone else in history: 2,587. Next youngest of a family of 10 from tiny (pop. 1,800) Jonesville, N.C., Dickie is 21, stands 6 feet 6 inches, weighs 227 pounds and has been named for Ail-American honors. A Dean's List student last year, he is interested in both pro basketball and a career in advertising after a stint with the Army.
