Canada. Herbert Lake, Banff National Park, Alberta. Open season July 15-Sept. 30. Minimum length 8 inches; bag limit 5 a day.
Edith, Mina and Dorothy lakes, Jasper National Park, Alberta. Open season Lake Edith June 1-Sept. 30. Minimum length 8 inches; 5 a day. Same regulations for Mina, Dorothy lakes, except 10 fish a day.
Ontario. Several lakes currently reported open. Write Dr. W. J. K. Harkness, Chief, Fish and Wildlife Division, Toronto, for information.
Quebec. 300 trout planted six years ago now weigh 5 to 6 pounds but no open season. More stocking planned this fall, but no fishing this year.
Manitoba. 10,000 eggs received recently for stocking Hunt Lake, Whiteshell Reserve. No open season. United Stales. Panther Pond in New York on road between Saranac and Tupper lakes was stocked with 1,500 5-inch wendigos last fall. Open season continues through Sept. 11.
California received 40,000 eggs in March. About half hatched and survived, will be planted (now 2-3 inches long) this month in Lower Salmon Lake, northern wilderness area.
New Hampshire has stocked Big Dan Hole Pond, near Ossipee and Tiftonboro, with 1,425 fish averaging two to the pound. Minimum length 6 inches, 10 a day. Season open through Aug. for fly and bait, through Sept. fly only.
