Badger Pass, Yosemite Park, Calif.: Constant T bar lift, 2,640 feet long, has vertical rise of 385 feet. Capacity: 1,200 skiers per hour. $50,000 in improvement spent on lodge and feeding facilities. Baby-sitting service now provided for family skiers.
Mount Baldy, Swartout, Calif.: 1,400-foot T bar has vertical rise of 200 feet to top of beginners' hill. Lift cost $40,000, can handle 600 per hour, travels at only four miles an hour. Mullin's Mile now 50 feet wide, two miles long. Roads from Los Angeles improved.
Dodge Ridge, Long Barn, Calif.: T bar 1,000 feet long, 300-foot vertical rise, capacity 750. Last year's Pomalift improved along with slopes it services.
Edelweiss, Twin Bridges, Calif.: new rope tow added to existing tow, giving combined length of 1,300 feet, with a vertical rise 450 feet. Lodge added new beer parlor called Bull Pen.
Squaw Valley, Calif.: new lodge completed with radiant-heated sundeck on three sides, dance floor and recreation room. Beginners' slopes regraded, rope tow extended. New Olympic downhill, slalom courses opened for advanced skiers.
Heavenly Valley, Bijou, Calif.: two rope tows (1,300 feet and 800 feet), 45-meter jump at base of mountain. Lodge enlarged. Road now black-topped. Stein Eriksen, at Boyne Mt., Mich. last year, heads ski school.
