DENVER'S RIFLE CHAMPIONS
May 06, 1957
With ROTC units as much a fact of contemporary college life as the Saturday night date, it is little wonder that a number of institutions have formed ladies' auxiliaries to help with the paperwork and ornament the unit's social occasions. At the University of Denver, however, the women's Sponsor Corps took dead aim at soldiering's more serious business. The girls formed a rifle team which this year again took top national honors in the National Rifle Association's intercollegiate women's championship. The sharpshooters standing are Judie Roberts of Denver, Joy Polhemus of Lamar and Linda Hughes of Pueblo. Kneeling are Shari Hagemeister, Crawford, Neb. and Mary Annette Riddick, Denver.
