Bill Veeck, Chicago White Sox boss, asked on TV why he dislikes New York Yankee General Manager George Weiss: "How much time do we have?"

Jack Spikes, TCU fullback, explaining why he signed with Lamar Hunt's Dallas Texans of the American Football League instead of the Pittsburgh Steelers of the National League, where Baltimore's Gene (Big Daddy) Lipscomb plays: "One, Mr. Hunt said I wouldn't have to play against Big Daddy.
