Hennink, a senior at Calvin College, equaled the Division III record for three-pointers in a game when he made 12 (in 14 attempts) during a 121-94 defeat of Malone College, Hennink tied the mark set by Mike Webster of Rose-Hulman in 1986.

ALBUQUERQUE
Nia, a sophomore on the West Mesa High girls' volleyball team, led the Mustangs to their third straight state title with a 15-12, 16-14, 15-7 win over Cibola High. She averaged a team-high seven kills as West Mesa went 20-0 for the year.

ROY CHERNOCK
LAKE WORTH, FLA.
Chernock, 62, earned four track and field gold medals in the 60-64 age group at the U.S. Senior Games in Palm Beach. He won the 50-yard dash (7.8), the 100-yard dash (13.8), the long jump (14'9�") and the standing broad jump (7'10").

STEPHANIE BUCKNER
HAMILTON, OHIO
Buckner, 18, a member of the U.S. karate team and a five-time Karate Federation national champ, won a gold medal in women's kumite (sparring) for the third straight year at the U.S. Junior Olympics. She is the world's fifth-ranked woman in kumite.

JOE EGAN
ELK GROVE, CALIF.
Joe, a 155-pound fullback on the Elk Grove High freshman football team, rushed for 285 yards on 18 carries and scored seven touchdowns in a 48-22 win over Yuba City High. He also scored a two-point conversion, totaling 44 points for the game.

TIFFANY BEAVER
CARMEL, IND.
Tiffany, a senior striker at Carmel High, scored the only goal as the Greyhounds defeated Noblesville High 1-0 to win the state girls' soccer championship for the fourth time in eight years. She had 36 goals and 10 assists as Carmel went 19-0 this season.
