Ryan, 10, was the 10-and-under age-group high-point champion at the Savannah City League swim championships. He won five individual events setting meet records in each one. He was also a member of two first-place relay teams.

SECAUCUS, N.J.
DeGennaro, 24, a chemist, won the 139-pound class at the World Drug Free Power Lifting Federation championships, in Meaux, France. Her combined total of 815.7 pounds in the squat was 49.6 pounds better than her closest competitor's total.

TIGER WOODS
CYPRESS, CALIF.
Tiger, 14, shot a two-under-par 286 for 72 holes to win a national youth golf tournament at Ridglea Country Club in Fort Worth. He has also won five Junior World titles, including the Optimist International in San Diego last July.

TRACEY DAY
SELDEN, N.Y.
Day, 23, defeated Tasha Wallace of Columbus, Ohio, 3-1� to win her third straight women's open division karate title at the USAKF Nationals. In July, she earned her second consecutive Pan-American gold in the 60-kilo class.

RICK BONTATIBUS
CHESHIRE, CONN.
Rick, a recent graduate of Cheshire High, scored 330 points over his prep lacrosse career, breaking Bill Bishop's state record by 50 points. In four years as an attackman, Rick had 183 goals and 147 assists while leading the Rams to a 64-11 record.

PHILOMENA BAKER-MYEROWITZ
BANGOR, MAINE
Baker-Myerowitz, 56, defeated Joy Clingman of St. Petersburg, Fla., by 22 seconds to win the 10,000-meter race-walk at the TAC U.S. Masters Championships, in Indianapolis. The title was the third of her career.
