Irvine, 60, a high school principal, established a masters 60-64 age-group women's world record in the 5,000-meter run. She ran a 19:15 on her 60th birthday to break the old mark, held by Australia's Shirley Brasher, by more than a minute.

SITTICHOKE HUCKUNTOD
KANSAS CITY, MO.
Huckuntod, a junior second baseman for Central Missouri State, broke the Missouri Intercollegiate Athletic Association's career records for runs scored (179), hits (228) and stolen bases (115). He has a .476 average for the Mules this season.

BRIGID KEADY
WINNETKA, ILL.
Brigid, now 10, a goalie for the Winnetka Warriors in the mite (nine-and-under) division of the Amateur Hockey Association of Illinois, saved 51 of 55 shots to lead her team to the state mite championship. The Warriors had a 25-1-1 season record.

CINCINNATI
Joe, a St. Xavier High sophomore, set or helped set three state high school swimming records in leading the Bombers to the state title. The marks were in the 100-yard freestyle (44.66), the 200 free (1:37.38) and the 4 x 100 free relay (3:03.25).

LINDSAY WILBER
MCLEAN, VA.
Lindsay, 12, won the U.S. Squash Racquets Association Nationals in the 12-and-under age group by defeating Marion Ringel of Brooklyn 16-13, 15-10, 15-7. She finished the season with a 48-0 match record and did not lose a game.
