As for Floyd, nothing was left but the hurt. "This would've meant so much to me, you can't imagine," he said, trying to keep his eyes dry and his voice clear. "To be the oldest, to win another major. Nothing has ever affected me like this. At this stage of my life, how many chances are you gonna have? If you're 25 and you lose one, you still believe in yourself, you still believe you're going to get a lot more chances." There is a useful lesson in all this. Forget the par-3 tournament. Win the par-5 tournament.
