Caught underneath the basket and harassed by the Celtics' Kevin Garnett, LeBron
James used his off hand to flip in this shot during Game 2 of the Eastern
Conference semifinals last Thursday in Boston. James had 21 points in the
Cavaliers' 89--73 loss; at week's end they trailed two games to one.

Troy Dumais pulled himself together for this somersault off the three-meter
springboard at the USA Diving Grand Prix in Fort Lauderdale last Saturday.
Dumais finished second (page 78).

Photographer Walter Iooss Jr. began shooting for SPORTS ILLUSTRATED in 1961,

latest collection of his work, Athlete, featuring 149 portraits of dominant
players such as Michael Jordan (from 1998) and Joe Montana (1991), was
published this week.
