Frohnheiser, a junior Softball third baseman at Furman, had four hits in a 9-1 defeat of George Mason to run her NCAA-record hitting streak to 42 games. During the streak, which ended with an 0-for 4 effort against Nicholls State, she hit .522 with a .942 slugging percentage. She also had a single-season NCAA-record 25 doubles.

Miller, a junior on the University of California, San Diego swim team, won three individual titles and helped the Tritons to three relay victories at the Division III championships. He set meet records in the 200-yard backstroke (1:48.48) and 200 IM (1:50.13) and came in first in the 100 butterfly (49.49).
Cozart, a senior on the Hollins College riding team, received the Cacchione Cup, the highest honor awarded to a college rider, at the 20th annual Intercollegiate National Horse Show. Cozart, who won the open hunter-seat equitation, led Hollins to the team title; Hollins defeated runner-up Colorado State 32 points to 12.
Alles, 68, shot two holes in one during one round at the local Capri Isles Golf Club. He used an eight-iron to ace the 147-yard 8th hole and a five-iron to do the same on the 156-yard 17th. Alles, who has a six handicap and had last shot a hole in one in 1953, ended the round with a score of 75.
Daria, a senior at Tuckahoe High, ran the 55-meter hurdles in 8.05 seconds at the state indoor meet to win her fifth girls' state championship in the high hurdles. She has won the 55-meter title three years in a row and the 100 crown two straight times. At the national indoor meet in March, she finished second, with a personal-best 8.01.
Angie, a 6-foot senior center on the Belt High girls' basketball team, had 41 points and 22 rebounds in a 71-51 state quarterfinal defeat of Ennis High. Angie, who led the Huskies to the Class C state title last season and a third-place finish this year, averaged 29 points and 19 rebounds during Belt High's 24-4 season.
