Philip, a senior catcher at Cooperstown High, is batting .446 and has four home runs, 23 RBIs and 29 stolen bases; he is Gatorade's state player of the year. In 2007 he was the Class C player of the year (.473, five HRs, 39 RBIs, 41 steals).

LAKE STEVEN, WASH. > Basketball and Volleyball
Holloway, a senior center at Cal State-- Northridge who wears a prosthetic leg, led the Matadors with 14.5 points and 7.2 rebounds; she was second-team All--Big West. Her right ankle and foot were amputated when she was an infant; she is a member of the U.S. women's sitting volleyball team.

Aramide, a sophomore at Woodberry Forest School, is first-team All--Virginia Prep League as a sprinter and defensive end. He won the 200 meters and was second in the 100 at the league meet; he also led the Tigers with seven sacks and was first-team all-state.

WHITTIER, CALIF. > Water Polo
Berg, a senior utility player for Cal State-- San Bernardino, scored seven goals to lead the then unranked Coyotes past then No. 16 UC Santa Barbara 13--12 in overtime. A two-time All-America, she led all divisions with 110 goals this season; she had 112 last year and a school-record 356 in her career.

ORLAND PARK, ILL. > Softball
Olson, a freshman pitcher at Indiana, hit a walk-off grand slam—her first home run--to beat Illinois 6--3 on April 25. Two days later she hit a three-run homer and pitched a complete game to beat Iowa 3--2 in the first half of a doubleheader; she earned her first save in the second game in another 3--2 win.
