WILMINGTON, DEL.
Cowen, a junior pitcher/third baseman at Manhattan College, and Yearick, a freshman shortstop, broke or tied seven Division I softball records this spring. Cowen's marks included most runs scored in a season (65), best batting average (.581), and ties for consecutive games with a hit (24) and hits in a season (93). Yearick had the most RBIs in a season (70) and equaled the marks for home runs (three) and RBIs (nine) in a game.

NEWBURY PARK, CALIF.
Luke, 46, a former sales and marketing manager, placed fifth (45-49 age group) in a triathlon five months after quintuple bypass surgery. He did the 3-mile run, 10-mile bike ride and quarter-mile swim in 1:18.56.

Tom Weeks
PETERBOROUGH, N.H.
Weeks, 38, won the 220-pound submaster (ages 33-39) Natural Athlete Strength Association Powerlifting title with a three-lift total of 1,559 pounds. He squatted 645, bench-pressed 330 and dead-lifted 584.

David Dunn
PARK CITY, UTAH
David, 11, concluded this year's ski season ranked first nationally in the 11-and-under (J-IV) age group in mogul freestyle skiing. He is also rated sixth in the country in his age group in aerial freestyle competition.

Twylana Harrison
LEVELLAND, TEXAS
Twylana, a senior at Levelland High, set a national girls' high school track and field record by triple jumping 42'11�", surpassing the mark of 42'10�" established by Wendy Brown of Woodside, Calif., in 1984.
