Aron, 7, the youngest participant ever on the Junior Bowlers Tour (age 21 and under), came in 13th out of a tournament field of 67 bowlers, most of whom were teenagers. His highest score on the tour is a 162.

Jwana, a freshman shortstop on the Miami Edison High softball team, hit four home runs, all grand slams, in leading the Lady Red Raiders to a 17-6 win over Miami Central. She had 12 homers for the season.

NEW YORK CITY
Gitler, 62, a writer and jazz historian who is coach and right wing for the Gorillas hockey team, led his club to the Sky Rink ( NYC) league crown. They routed the Whalers 8-3 in the title game for their 22nd win in a row.

Tara Riggs
CHARLESTON, S.C.
Tara, 10, won five Southern Region Age Group swimming titles in the 10-and-under girls' division and set state girls' age-group records in the 50-meter butterfly (28.96), the 100 fly (1:04.09) and the 200 freestyle (2:07.04).

Darrell Stanley
JEFFERSONVILLE, IND.
Stanley, a sophomore guard at Colorado Northwestern Community College, set a junior college basketball record when he converted 73 consecutive free throws. He went 201 for 223 from the line for the season.

1
