Conor, a senior at Chaminade Prep, set the national high school record in the 12-pound hammer throw (260 feet) at the U.S. Youth Track and Field Championships and was second at the national junior championships. Last year he was second at the Nike Outdoor National and fourth at the world youth championships.
PROVIDENCE > Golf
Juliet, a sophomore at La Salle Academy, is the first female to win the Rhode Island Interscholastic League individual golf title. She shot an even-par 71 and a six-over 77 to win the two-round tournament by two strokes. This week she became the first female to play in the Rhode Island State Amateur.

Cohen, a recent graduate of Lower Moreland High, won five Class AA tennis championships (singles titles in 2007 and '08, team titles in '07 and '08 and a doubles title in '06)—the first tennis titles his school had ever won. He will play at Clemson next year.

Caitlin Van Sickle
WILMINGTON, DEL. > Field Hockey and Lacrosse
Van Sickle, a recent graduate of Tower Hill School, was named state player of the year in both sports. A lacrosse defender, she also had 53 goals and 26 assists this spring. A field hockey midfielder, she scored 26 goals and led the Hillers to three state titles. She'll play field hockey at North Carolina.
CHASKA, MINN. > Baseball
Hand, a lefthanded pitcher and recent graduate of Chaska High, was a second-round pick of the Florida Marlins. He went 8--2 with an 0.61 ERA in 68 innings this season and led the Hawks to the state tournament for the first time in 11 years. Also a first baseman, he batted .352 with eight homers and 24 RBIs.

Ashley, a junior at Cedar Creek High, won her third consecutive Class 1A javelin title with a throw of 156 feet, the fourth best throw in the country this season. She also set school records in the long jump (17'1/4") and 300-meter hurdles (49.07).
