Daemon Stahlin
DEXTER, MICH. > Disc Golf
Stahlin, 22, an Internet consultant, won the U.S. Amateur Disc Golf Championship by beating Mark Roberts in a six-hole playoff. In the final round he tied the Kensington Toboggan Course record with a nine-under-par 53 for a three-day score of 178. In 2006 he finished second in the tournament.

Rachele Fico
MONROE, CONN. > Softball
Rachele, a junior righthander at Masuk High, pitched five consecutive perfect games (seven total); she also had 12 no-hitters. In all she had 486 strikeouts and an 0.07 ERA in 195 innings to lead the Panthers to a 27--0 record and their second straight Class LL title.

Caitlin Erickson
CYPRESS, TEXAS > Lacrosse
Erickson, an attacker and recent graduate of Mary Washington, broke the Division III single-season scoring record by averaging 7.94 points in 18 games. She scored 62 goals and had 81 assists (a national-best 4.5 per game) and was named a second-team All-America.

Takecia Jameson
UPPER MARLBORO, MD. > Track and Field
Jameson, a sophomore at Miami, won the 400-meter hurdles at the World Junior Championships in Bydgoszcz, Poland, in a 2008 world junior best time of 56.29. She also won that event at the national junior championships, earning All-America honors.

SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. > Golf
Fields, a recent graduate of Pinecrest High, rallied from a seven-stroke deficit to win the North Carolina Amateur by shooting an eight-under-par 63 in the final round that included a double eagle. He also won the high school Class 4A title.
