Bain, a graduate student at Oral Roberts, won an Olympic silver medal for the Bahamas as part of the 4�400 relay team. The Golden Eagles' first medalist, he ran the lead leg in 45.92. In 2008 he became the sixth athlete to win the NCAA indoor and outdoor 400 championships in the same year.

Courtney Mathewson
ANAHEIM HILLS, CALIF. > Water Polo
Mathewson, a recent graduate of UCLA, won the Peter J. Cutino Award as the nation's top collegiate female water polo player. An attacker, she scored 111 career goals, including 54 as a senior, and had 11 in NCAA tournaments as the Bruins won the national title in each of her four seasons.

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA. > Speedskating

Landon, a senior at Albemarle High, is the 2008 U.S. Short Track Junior Men's national champion. He won the 500, 1,000 and 1,500 meters, the last in junior-record time (2:27.633), and will compete in this month's American Cup, which is a World Cup qualifier.

Jake Bohn
KENTWOOD, MICH. > Wrestling

Bohn, a George Mason--bound graduate of East Kentwood High, set the national record with 526 takedowns this year and the Michigan career record with 1,365. He was 178--39 in high school and qualified for the state championships four times, finishing as high as second as a senior at 160 pounds.
