LIFE AS an anonymous All-Star may be ending for Flames defenseman Dion Phaneuf—and not just because he's landed on the cover of EA Sports' NHL '09. Phaneuf's also dating actress Elisha Cuthbert (right), and the pair was set upon by paparazzi while vacationing in Maui in the off-season. "It's part of her business; you deal with it," Phaneuf tells SI. "You just live your life. I'd do anything for her." Cuthbert, who attended the NHL Awards ceremony with Phaneuf in June, used to date NHL pest Sean Avery. Yes, she's Canadian.... LeBron James teared up at the Toronto film festival as he watched More Than a Game, a documentary that follows James and teammates in their pre- high school and high school years. "This is the first time I've cried since we lost that national championship game in eighth grade," says James. "This is authentic." The film isn't all hoops, James says. "It's about friends developing a brotherhood, seeking a dream and making that dream a reality." ... How devoted is John Cusack (below) to the Cubs? "I'm doing a film this fall, and I told the producers, 'I'm going to the Cubs' playoff games so I can't be on the set those dates,'" he says. "Either they reschedule or I'll be AWOL."
