THE SQUAW VALLEY LAYOUT

Entire Olympic plant, except for cross-country courses, is tucked into tight, 640-acre complex at western end of Squaw Valley. Opening, closing ceremonies will be held in central ice arena (1). Other facilities are: speed-skating oval (2), spectator centers (3), ice hockey rinks (4), administration building and score tabulation center (5), press building (6), officials' housing (7), practice rink (8), Olympic Village (9), ski jump (10), chair lift (11), ladies' giant slalom course (12), ladies' slalom (13), Pomalift (14), ladies' downhill (15), men's slalom (16), chair lift (17), men's giant slalom (18), men's downhill (19), chair lift (20), tram (21), chair lift (22). Cross-country events take place at McKinney Creek, 12 miles from the valley.
