Alberts, a senior outside hitter at Washington University in St. Louis, had 50 kills, 45 digs, seven block assists and four aces to lead the Bears to a 4-0 week; she was named Division III player of the week by the American Volleyball Coaches Association. She is also an All-America heptathlete.

Riga, Latvia -- Tennis

Necajevs, a junior at Detroit Mercy, won his first 13 matches and three singles titles (at the Detroit Titan Fall Invitational, Valpo Fall Classic and Ball State Invitational) while competing for the Titans, who are fielding their first tennis team since 1995. He was twice named Horizon League player of the week.

Denzel, a senior running back at the Blue Ridge School, ran 13 times for 233 yards, caught seven passes for 140 yards, scored a school-record seven touchdowns and even intercepted two passes to lead the Barons to a 49-29 win over Trinity Episcopal.
