Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki used his left arm to get a lift from the Bulls' Drew Gooden last Thursday in Chicago and flip up a shot that didn't drop. Nowitzki finished with 12 points as Dallas lost 98--91.

A player at Vista Valencia Golf Course in Valencia, Calif., continued his round last Saturday as a water-dropping helicopter reloaded its tank from a water hazard. The chopper was fighting a fire near Sylmar, 15 miles away.
