BEST IN THE WEST
The 1916 Buckeyes (striped jerseys) capped an unbeaten season in which they outscored opponents 258-29 by beating Northwestern 23-3 in the game that decided the championship of the Western Conference (which a year later became the Big Ten).
ROSE BOWL CLEANUP
It wasn't pretty, but on their third trip to Pasadena, the Buckeyes beat USC 20-7 in the '55 Rose Bowl. Linebacker Hubert Bobo (42) and his teammates became the first OSU squad to win 10 games and earned Woody Hayes his first national title.
CATCHING A WAVE
Craig Krenzel was on top of the world after a 14-9 win over Michigan earned the '02 Buckeyes a Fiesta Bowl berth. Six weeks later Ohio State snapped Miami's 34-game win streak to capture the school's first consensus national title since '68.
