THE SWIMSUIT ISSUE asks a lot of its models. Tilt your head a little to the left, hon. Relax those eyes. More cleavage. Perfect, sweetie.
And still, they are unfailingly polite and understanding, meeting every request with the effortless grace and poise on display throughout this issue. But we had one more favor to ask of 15 of the models: Go rogue. Here's a camera, grab a friend and give us a snapshot (or five or 10) of your playful, even mischievous side. Lucia Dvorska (above) obliged by mounting the Wall Street bull in the middle of a June day. Damaris Lewis dropped in...well, let Damaris explain her candid on the following page.
"O.K., I was with my agent, and we went to a Duane Reade, and the manager was, like, 'No shirt? No shoes? Blah, blah, blah.' So where else can we go? We're on Park Avenue, and we both had our MetroCards, so we say, 'Why not the subway?' It's 11 o'clock in the morning, there aren't many people there, and we went all the way to the end of the platform. It's just Calvin, myself and one other guy, who's standing there, very confused.
"The confusion's just starting. In between trains and waiting for the people to clear out, I take off my dress and we just start taking pictures. Took one sitting down, took one where I'm leaning over the platform to see if a train is coming. Took only a minute. Slipped my dress back on, and we were out of there. I've never had a bathing suit on in the subway, and it was kind of a challenge to see how scared I would be or how much fun I would have. I ended up having so much fun.
"And that guy at the end of the platform? He forgot to get on the next train."

Vegas, Baby, Vegas!
THE E-MAIL arrived from my editor: You, 19 models, NYC to Vegas, four-day party. From Feb. 9 to 12 I'll live the dream, chasing all things Swim, from the cover unveiling by David Letterman on a Times Square billboard to the afterparty that will begin in New York and, after a private plane ride, end up at the hottest club in Las Vegas. I'll chronicle the odyssey—including a pillow fight between Brooklyn Decker and Julie Henderson at 30,000 feet—in a 'round-the-clock blog including interviews, photos and video. Take it all in at si.com/party.

SWIMSUIT ISSUE? More like Swimsuit multimedia bonanza. Once again SI's annual bikini coverage extends far beyond its print pages to include more than four hours of high-quality video footage on its website. On Feb. 10, SI.com rolled out its datababe, uh, database on the YouTube home page, with a special introduction by the SoBe Lizard, no slouch when it comes to performing in big events, such as this month's Super Bowl. The videos will live on the home page for 24 hours and can be found after that at the SI.com channel on YouTube (youtube.com/siswimsuit) and at si.com/swimvideo.
