Andy Roddick leaned back before belting a serve at the U.S.--Switzerland Davis Cup matches in Birmingham last Friday. Roddick beat Marco Chiudinelli 6--1, 6--3, 7--6, and the U.S. advanced to the Cup quarterfinals with a 4--1 win.

Umpire Dan Iassogna was the only man still on his feet after U.S. outfielder Mark DeRosa slid in ahead of the tag by Ramon Hernandez on Sunday during the first round of the World Baseball Classic (page 16) in Toronto. The U.S. routed Venezuela 15--6.
