Spencer, a senior at Brighton High, won the state Class 5A singles title for the fourth year in a row, helping the Bengals win their fourth straight team championship. He finished his high school career undefeated, having lost only two sets. In USTA Intermountain Section play, Spencer won all 14 championships in 18-and-under competition over the last three years.
BRUSLY, LA. > Softball
Bethany, a senior at Brusly High, pitched two perfect games, 10 no-hitters total and 21 shutouts in all while striking out 489 batters in 236 innings this season. She finished with a 26--10 record and a 0.44 ERA. In her two seasons she pitched all but two games for the Panthers, who advanced to the state Class 3A quarterfinals this month before losing.

ALBUQUERQUE > Track and Field
Curtis, a senior at Albuquerque Academy, broke the 16-year-old national high school record in the decathlon (7,909 points) at the Arcadia Invitational. He also led the Chargers to the state Class 4A title by winning the pole vault, 110-meter hurdles, high jump and 200- and 400-meter races. Curtis won 17 individual state titles in four years.

BOISE, IDAHO > Rowing
Kannor, a senior at Bucknell University, led the Bison to their fourth straight Patriot League championship and became the first rower to be a member of the conference's Boat of the Year four seasons in a row. She was also named to the All--Patriot League team and won the Christy Mathewson Award as Bucknell's outstanding senior athlete.
RIDLEY PARK, PA. > Lacrosse
Grugan, a junior at Cabrini College, tied a 32-year-old NCAA Division III record by scoring at least one goal in 54 straight games; he also has the second-longest consecutive points streak (57 games). Grugan is the Colonial States Athletic Conference player of the year for the second straight season and holds school season records for points (96) and assists (44).
PHOENIX > Track and Field
Claye, a freshman at Oklahoma, broke a 27-year-old U.S. Junior National record in the triple jump with a leap of 55'7" and won the Big 12 title (55'9¾"), earning USA Track & Field athlete of the week honors. During the indoor season he was All-America in the long jump and the triple jump. Claye's a former two-time Arizona high school triple jump champion.
