Jessica Rhoads

Rhoads, a freshman pitcher at Messiah College, went 28--1 in leading the Falcons to their first NCAA Division III national championship. She was tops in Division III in strikeouts (12.9) and fewest hits allowed (1.91 per seven innings) and was second in ERA (0.49). Rhoads also hit a game-winning home run in the NCAA semifinals.
Robert Farah
CALI, COLOMBIA > Tennis
Farah, a junior at Southern Cal, was named NCAA tournament MVP after clinching wins for the Trojans against Stanford in the round of 16 and against Ohio State in the final. For the season he was 31--7 in singles and 35--11 in doubles and was All-America in both. Farah and freshman Steve Johnson formed the Pac-10 doubles team of the year.

Shelby Greany
SUFFERN, N.Y. > Track and Field
Shelby, a senior at Suffern High, broke the national high school record in the 2,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 6:33.70. She also holds the New York state high school indoor 3,000-meter title. Shelby, who has run varsity cross-country since seventh grade, is a six-time Rockland County champion.
