ENEMY LINES
WHAT A RIVAL COACH SAYS

"The Chiefs talk about a competition for the starting job between Matt Cassel and Tyler Thigpen, but they're not serious about that. The new regime brought in Cassel; it's his job. He would really have to blow it for Thigpen to have a shot. Cassel will fit fine in [coach] Todd Haley's offense, though he's not a great athlete and doesn't have a great arm.... I hate to see Larry Johnson twice a year. There's plenty left in his tank. They will use him more than how Haley used the backs in Arizona, because the Chiefs don't have the receivers Arizona had.... Jamaal Charles is dangerous. He is a prototype third-down back. Those other backs, like Kolby Smith [below], cannot carry the load.... Dwayne Bowe is not a speed guy, but he is a strong, sure-handed route runner. As time goes on, he will mature into an NFL receiver."
